- Pelamos la cebolla, la zanahoria y el diente de ajo, troceamos todo bien picadito y lo echamos en una sartén a la cual le echamos un buen chorro de aceite y la ponemos a fuego medio e incorporamos la hoja de laurel y sal al gusto. Pelamos y cortamos el tomate lo más pequeño posible y cuando esté pochado las verduras de la sartén lo agregamos a esta.


- Mientras el agua hierve, seguimos cocinando los otros ingredientes. Cortamos el chorizo en rodajas así como el tocino picado en trozos pequeños, lo agregamos a la sartén y cuando esté bien dorado y las lentejas a media cocción, lo añadimos a la cazuela. En la misma sartén en la que hemos dorado los embutidos, freímos la rebanada de pan hasta que esté muy dorada. Retiramos y reservamos.


- Pelamos el otro diente de ajo y lo machacamos en el mortero junto con el pimentón dulce y el pan frito, machacamos todo hasta conseguir una pasta uniforme y se lo añadimos a la cazuela. Una vez pasado unos 45 minutos y las lentejas estén tiernas y sabrosas, apagamos el fuego y dejamos reposar unos cinco minutos antes de servir. Y listo para comer.
